Today is my 6th full day in the UAE region.
The landscape just off the port is very desolate and arid, but driving farther into the city the scenery changes to that of a modern city. Right now we are driving along the Causeway towards Saudi Arabia. Families and especially women, from Saudi like to "get away" to Bahrain where the women are actually allowed to learn to drive, and there is no prohibition against alcohol.
I wonder as I listen whether I would be the rebel Saudi child, attempting to defect...hard to imagine.
